“The Italian Academy of Business Economics: A Journey Spanning Over Two Centuries (1807-2023)”, has just won the “Barbara D. Merino Award for Excellence in Accounting History Publication”.

With great satisfaction and gratitude towards our Colleagues, we are pleased to announce that the monographic work “The Italian Academy of Business Economics: A Journey Spanning Over Two Centuries (1807-2023)”, has been awarded the “Barbara D. Merino Award for Excellence in Accounting History Publication”. This award is granted annually by the Academy of Accounting Historians, a section of the American Accounting Association.

The award aims to “recognize the author of the best book on an accounting historical topic published in the current or previous two years. The winning publication will be based upon the selection of an awards committee established by the leadership of the Academy of Accounting Historians”.

Therefore, we must extend our congratulations to the authors Stefano Coronella and Massimo Sargiacomo, who have brilliantly narrated a long story that began over 210 years ago. A special thanks also goes to all the members, past Presidents, and Councilors who have contributed over the years to the development of our Academy.

In Washington, during the annual Congress of the American Accounting Association scheduled for August, the Authors will have the opportunity to receive their award.
